Introducing
Professor Carol Sue Englert is the coordinator of CIERA Program II. She is a professor of Education at Michigan State University where she holds appointments in the Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Special Education. She received her Ph.D in Education at the Indiana University in 1981.
In her current work, Englert conducts research on early literacy on the Literacy Environments for Accelerated Progress Project (LEAP), and the applications of computer technology to literacy instruction on the internet on the Teleweb project (with Dr. Yong Zhao). Her research has implications at the local, state and national levels. She is also the author of many books and articles. In 1993, Dr. Englert won the for President's Award from the local Council for Exceptional Children for outstanding contributions to research and practice.
