Background Information
The College of Education at Michigan State University has been heralded as a leader in educational reform and offers undergraduate and graduate students outstanding opportunities to prepare for careers in teaching, research, service and policymaking. For the fourteenth consecutive year, the 2009 U.S. News and World Report ranking of the 188 graduate schools of education ranked the elementary and secondary education programs as the best in the United States.

In keeping with the tradition of excellence and encompassing vision in the field of education, the Center for Teaching and Technology was established in the summer of 1999, then known as the Office for Teaching and Technology. The Center for Teaching and Technology was created to support the teaching assistants and faculty of the college. The support is provided in the form of a variety of services, including workshops, the annual technology conference, and maintaining an extensive website, to encourage the thoughtful use of technology in teaching, learning, and research.

At the Center of it All
The Center for Teaching and Technology is located in the south wing of Erickson Hall , room 133. While the Center of Teaching and Technology calls room 133 its home, the Center plans educational technology events throughout Erickson Hall for the students, teaching assistants, and faculty of the College of Education.
